No matter how expensive your DJ mixer, amplifier, or speakers are, wrong mixer settings can ruin the entire sound.
Most DJs complain about:
Voice not clear
Bass overpowering vocals
Distortion at high volume
The truth is — 90% sound problems are caused by incorrect mixer settings.
In this guide, Punishka Trading explains the best DJ mixer settings to achieve clear voice and deep, controlled bass for weddings, live events, and DJ shows.
Start with gain at minimum
Slowly increase till voice is loud but no clipping
Avoid red/peak indicator
👉 Rule: Gain is for input level, not volume.
Low (Bass): 9–10 o’clock
Mid: 12 o’clock
High (Treble): 1–2 o’clock
This removes muddiness and improves vocal clarity.
Use light reverb only
Avoid heavy echo in announcements
Keep gain lower than mic channel
Prevent distortion on bass drops
Low: 12–1 o’clock
Mid: 11–12 o’clock
High: 12 o’clock
This keeps music punchy without killing vocals.
Keep master around 70–80%
Let amplifier do the heavy work
Avoid boosting all frequencies
Flat or slight high boost is best
Bass → Subwoofer only
Mid → Vocal speakers
High → Tweeters
Proper crossover prevents distortion and speaker damage.
